Welcome!

This is the application portal for all things From the Top.

From the Top's Learning and Media Lab Fellowship provides young musicians a space to explore life as an artist, content creation, and community engagement. Fellows also have the unique opportunity to share their performances and perspectives with a large national radio and digital audience.

Applicants with financial need are encouraged to apply to both our Fellowship and for our Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, a need-based award of up to $10,000 for eligible Fellows in the Learning and Media Lab.

Joining a cohort of peers, Fellows complete a four-week online curriculum covering a range of topics. They explore career opportunities in the arts, audio production, community engagement, and more. At the end of the four-week program, all Fellows:

  • record their appearance on From the Top's NPR program and podcast
  • work together to plan and implement a community engagement activity
  • are invited to collaborate with From the Top on digital media
